Under Land Administrative Act 1997 (WA) (LAA) compulsory acquisition of land is the formal process to take land without the landowner’s consent. Processes for right to claim compensation for their loss of interest in the land including Notice of Intention to Take an Interest in the land (NOITT) registration at Landgate (Western Australian Land Information Authority), Taking Order (TO), claims and offers of compensation and the pitfalls for landowners in the compensation stakes.
