Tax, Finance & Risk Forum 2026
Six Compliance Regimes. One Operating Environment. Where Finance, Tax, Risk and Legal Align. Australia’s only forum connecting tax reform, AI governance, AML/CTF and ESG in one room.
Description
Why attend in October?
Six compliance regimes are now live — simultaneously, and in enforcement stage. This is not a preview. By October 2026, every obligation on this list has commenced. The questions your organisation is dealing with are no longer about preparation. They are about execution, gaps and what the regulators are finding.
- 1 Jul 2026 AML/CTF Tranche 2 Live: Lawyers, accountants and advisers are now regulated entities. Four months in, enrolment gaps, CDD deficiencies and program weaknesses are emerging. AUSTRAC is watching.
- 30 Jun 2026 Pillar Two first returns filed: GloBE/BEPS 2.0 is no longer theoretical. First returns are in. ATO observations are landing. The compliance and enforcement phase has begun.
- 1 Jul 2026 ESG Group 2 mandatory reporting commenced: AASB S2 obligations — Scope 3 emissions, climate scenario analysis, assurance phasing — are live for Group 2 entities. ASIC has already published what it found wrong in Group 1 reports.
- 1 Jul 2026 Division 296 super tax live: The 15% tax on superannuation balances above $3 million is in effect. Structures that have not been reviewed are exposed
- 12 May 2026 Federal Budget 2026–27 handed down: The most ambitious tax reform package in 25 years. Trust minimum tax, CGT restructuring, negative gearing changes and Division 296 are all reshaping advice and planning decisions now.
- 10 Dec 2026 Privacy Act AI obligation approaching: Automated decision-making disclosure will be mandatory from 10 December 2026. Every organisation using AI in finance, tax or compliance needs a governance policy and updated privacy framework in place before that date.
Who should attend
- CFOs, Deputy CFOs & Finance Directors
- Heads of Tax & Tax Directors
- Financial Controllers & Finance Managers
- Chief Risk Officers & Compliance Directors
- General Counsel & Company Secretaries
- CEOs, Managing Directors & COOs
- Heads of Treasury & Treasurers
- Internal Audit & Governance Directors
Why attend
- Cross-functional by design: The only ANZ forum that puts the CFO, CRO, GC, Tax Director and Controller in the same room, on the same agenda. No streams. No silos.
- Regulatory enforcement intelligence: ASIC, APRA, ATO and AUSTRAC have moved from guidance to enforcement. Live signals translated into specific actions — not published guidance you have already read.
- AI governance — practical, not theoretical: Internal policy, agentic risk, accuracy standards and the December 2026 Privacy Act obligation. For organisations that have deployed AI and have not yet caught up with the governance it requires.
- Peer exchange: Closed-door discussion group session by function. Chatham House rules. What your peers are actually doing, not what advisers are recommending.
- The right room: ~80 CFOs, Controllers, CROs and General Counsel from enterprise and ASX-listed organisations. Small enough that every conversation matters.
- Gain CPD points
